Only Now Do You Understand The Power of The Dark Side.....

http://www.virginmedia.com/microsites/movies/slideshow/best-fight-scenes/img_12.jpg
Clinton: You cannot hide forever, Barack.
Barack: I will not join you on a dream ticket.
Clinton: Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your party. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for the party are strong. Especially for... the youth vote...... Yes, the youngsters who are full of hope......Your feelings have now betrayed them, too. Howard Dean was wise to hide them from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the Dark Side... then perhaps ...they.... will...
Barack: [igniting light saber, screams] NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm going to hate myself for doing this, but I am going to post again "one last time" --just like Mark. :)

MY TOPIC: How we got an Obama/ Clinton ticket.

That's right, We have him at the top. Two words: Super delegates.

The party regulars decide that enough is enough; it's a draw; both have made their case. And they all want to have a good time unifying the party in Denver, so the issue is going to be resolved before then. So they take a page from the Republicans (Reagan/Bush)and a page from their own history (JFK/LBJ). Plus it has the added advantage of letting Bill spend his time elsewhere.

However, in a world run by the Fairfields, here is how we'd like to divide the issues:

Hillary gets health care, NAFTA & the economy (including her green collar jobs idea)and Afganistan/ Pakistan

Obama gets Iraq (where his middle name is handy), the environment and education (and inspiration is handy)

Alison & Steve Fairfield
Hillary Supporters

Good idea, Fairfields. There is no doubt she could make important contributions in those areas. If there were someone else qualified to do the same, I would prefer to see someone else, because this great democracy deserves a totally Bush- & Clinton-free 2009.

However, you can't dispute that she has know-how Barack can use, and it's the best way out of this intractable split-decision we're in. But only if Bill promises to stay in Africa saving lives by using market forces to cure disease, which is what he was doing before he started campaigning. The deal should be, he gets anywhere near the White House, and Secret Service tackles him......

Allison! Great to see you post again!!

The big question is: Why should Obama be the VP candidate when he has more elected delegates at the end of the day? Would hard-core Obamaites be willing to except 2nd fiddle? Would blacks?!!

Is Obama even willing to "tie his star" to the Clinton Machine?

I would think Hillary would want to pick a male, southern, or moderate governor-type w/ solid military credentials to counter McCain's strengths. Obama is arguably even less qualified to the C&C than Hillary.

Also, I kind of think Obama detests her…..maybe its mutual…..hard to say…...

PS I would gladly take my chances in a world run by the Fairfields.....

Walker:

Clarification: Obama is at the top of the ticket. (I know I listed HRC's responsibilities first which may have confused things.)I don't think either of them would like to do it this way (or the reverse), but it may not be their decision ultimately. If they come in even-ish, presuming something isn't brokered beforehand, I would think that the delegates could threaten to bolt leaving HRC with nada. If she tries to seat MI and FL it would, as Jenny likes to say, confirm everyone's worst fears about the Clintons, and then she would have to run having alienated her own party and already having widespread likability issues. In that case, just give it to McCain. But if she accepts VP, esp if it's close, than she gets the coveted Mitt Romney award for seeking the greater good. And for his part, Obama inherits the 35-years-in-the- making Clinton network of people who really vote. An addendum: as part of the economy, Hillary works on the sub-prime lending mess. She'd also like Veterans' Affairs.

Finally, your primary predictions were impressive.
