Head, meet wall. Head, beat against wall.

Your video does not demonstrate some sort of a gain/loss wash, but a clear net loss over time, with a significant increase in loss in recent years.

Even as the perimeter moves, the net loss is unambiguous. And it's not just the surface area that is measured but the depth. The north pole ice sheet is now half as deep as used to be.

I think your unwillingness to consider those simple scientific facts is a nice metaphor for this argument. You and Davegator refuse to look a little deeper than the Limbaugh narrative (beneath the surface of the ice, so to speak), because you don't like the facts when they don't support your side.

I don't know if your "Scottish Scientists" ( you don't cite a source) are the same dudes from the BBC anti-warming "documentary" that you like to refer to, but that movie has been thoroughly discredited as bogus. Two of the scientists who contributed (the ones that were legitimate) have since denounced the film:

Carl Wunsch, professor of Physical Oceanography at MIT, was originally featured in the programme. Afterwards he said that he was "completely misrepresented" in the film and had been "totally misled" when he agreed to be interviewed.[26][3] He called the film "grossly distorted" and "as close to pure propaganda as anything since World War Two."[27]

I think this argument we've been having is exhausted, and we should move on. Like I said before, no amount of scientific reasoning will change your minds. If we remove all fair , objective consideration of science, which is the only way you guys can hold your own in the argument, then there isn't much left to talk about.

I think it's sad. There used to be a time when America led the world against global threats. We led the world against fascism, and we led the world against communism. When we had to step up and reorganize our industries, and sacrifice our treasure and lives to do so, we didn't hesitate. And we came out on the other end of those efforts stronger, wealthier, and more powerful.

I guess we'll have to let the rest of the world lead the way in this fight.

Unless Obama wins.

PS: I found the article on Dr. Chad Dick, your Scottish scientist. You omitted the part where he also admits global warming is real and humans are changing the planet.
